John Player Special Mk IV – Lotus 79 driven by Ronnie Peterson during the Italian practices 1978 at Monza. During the practices, Ronnie damaged this Lotus 79. Team Lotus had a spare 79, but it had been built for Andretti, and the taller Peterson did not fit comfortably inside. The team’s only other car was a type 78. Ronnie ran the Italian GP with the Lotus 78 and died at the hospital the day after the race due to a massive crash during the start.
